IMPORTANT NOTE:

Note that all Architecture related applications are very resource intensive as in they use a lot of the performance available on the laptop or desktops to their full extent. More importantly, they use up a LOT of memory or RAM. So if you are a user who uses multiple applications such as these at once (such as Photoshop, Sketchup, Lumion, Autocad etc at the same time), then it doesn't matter what laptop you purchase, if it has 16GB or less amount of RAM, then it WILL most definitely slow down depending on the load. This is NOT due to the lack of performance of the processor or graphics card but simply because your PC does not have enough RAM to manage all the open applications. While 16GB Ram used to be a good amount of memory 5-10 Years ago, It has become almost a bare minimum now to have at least 16GB to run applications smoothly. Upgrading to 32GB or more is highly recommended for high-end users.

Asus TUF Gaming lineup is well known for its value for money choices and the 2023 variant improved upon all its predecessors by improving on the battery life, efficiency, cooling and finally a good display. Most previous generation TUF A15 models have had displays with non accurate colors making for confusing sheet printouts and dissimilar colors across various monitors/outputs. The 2023 lineups fixes this with a standard 100% sRGB color gamut. Rest of the specifications are also top of the line.

Designers/Architects/Students looking for a minimal-looking laptop that doesn't stand out significantly in a professional setting and is also powerful and can handle Architecture software well.


This is the 2023 Lenovo LOQ launched in the month of July 2023 and offers some of the best specifications in this segment at the lowest prices. It doesn't compromise on the performance or the display either and is currently the best laptop to get at its price. However, it is not readily available for purchase and has to be ordered from the Lenovo Store with the above mentioned specifications. Since this is a custom order, it could take up to 5 weeks for delivery. If you are willing to wait for this duration, this is absolutely the best overall performing laptop that you can get for its price. If you can't wait, there is also a ready-to-ship model available, however, its display is not color accurate but you get the same performance. If you are going to be using an external monitor, then this could be an alternative worth looking into.


Bottom Line: Alternative choice from HP that's relatively lower priced but should satisfy the requirements for most modern Architecture software.

This laptop will primarily help students and Architects on the go who are looking for a laptop that can offer solid performance but also need good battery life for general purpose usage.


The 2022 Asus TUF Gaming A15 doesn't have the best in class processor or graphics card in this price segment. However, it still offers a very capable and power efficient 8 core processor and a 6GB RTX 3060 graphics card capable of handling Architectural software quite well. While high end laptops and battery life usually doesn't come together, the 2022 Asus TUF Gaming A15 is an exception that offers a whopping 10 hours of battery life! for light loads such as web browsing/view viewing. The power efficient Ryzen 7 6800HS helps achieve this. However, do note that, on GPU intensive tasks such as rendering, the battery life is limited to 2 hours just like any other high end laptop. It is also always recommended to plug in the laptop for high end usage in all high end laptops to get the best performance.


Bottom Line: Decent performance and excellent battery life in a robust laptop.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022) is an absolute power house and packs a lot of power while weighing just 1.6Kg! With an excellent power efficient Ryzen 7 6800HS and an 8GB RX 6700S, you are unlikely to be not satisfied with the performance. There is also scope for memory and storage expansion despite being very compact. It also has a good display with 100% sRGB for work that requires good color reproduction. There's not a lot to be said here. If you need the best portable laptop at this price, this is it. There is no alternative.
