Considering that the Legion 5 Pro (listing price around Rs 1.4 Lakh on Lenovo Store) is priced around Rs 10,000 more than the non-pro variant, it does beg a comparison between the two and why you should choose the Legion 5 non-pro over the other.

Legion 5 non-pro vs Legion 5 Pro

As far as I could tell, there isn't a lot of difference between the two except for the Display and the Warranty. The Legion 5 offers a 15.6" 16:9 FHD 165hz display with 300 nits brightness which is pretty much a standard among gaming laptops around this price range. The Legion 5 Pro on the other hand offers slightly larger 16" 16:10 QHD+ display with 165hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. Both of them offer a 100% sRGB color gamut as well. Now if you are a display enthusiast, the additional brightness (and HDR400 support), the higher resolution and the additional vertical space due to 16:10 aspect ratio could sound really good (albeit at the expense of lower FPS while gaming due to QHD+ resolution). However, if you are just looking for a decent display that can push out the most frames while still offering a pretty good experience, the Legion 5 wins in that case along with saving you around Rs 14,000 (when you factor in the coupon code).

Apart from that you also seem to get only 1 year of warranty by default on the Legion 5 as compared to the 3 year warranty on the Legion 5 Pro. However, this should be extendable and rest of the specifications are mostly the same.

Should you get this?

As for should you get this, here is what we think. Is your budget around Rs 1,25,000 or Rs 1.25 Lakh? Would you prefer an FHD Display over a QHD display on a laptop to get more frames per second (FPS)? Would you like to save around Rs 14,000 by opting for a very similar laptop that pretty much offers the same performance? If any or most of the answers to above questions are yes, then go with the Legion 5. It is one of the only premium laptops available at this price.

Do you care more about display brightness and resolution/sharpness? 16:10 display for that extra vertical space? a couple more years of warranty by default? Does your budget extend to around Rs 1.38 Lakh? If the answer to one or more of the above questions is yes, Then feel free to get the Legion 5 Pro either from the Lenovo Store or from Amazon (Link).

NOTE: Some users have reported that the Lenovo website may not work well on Mozilla Firefox. So for best compatibility try using Chrome or other Chromium based web broswers.
