As of now with respect to other laptops that offer RTX 3080 16GB 165W TGP, Legion 7 is the best choice there is. Dell Alienware with similar specifications pricing is unknown at the moment but considering that the Alienware X17 with RTX 3070 starts at Rs 2,90,990, RTX 3080 variant can be expected to be priced at a much higher price tag. Similarly, the other 165w TGP RTX 3080 offering, MSI GE76 Raider offers a similar set of specifications at a price tag of Rs 2,99,990.
With a Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU, top of the line RTX 3080 16GB 165 TGP GPU, Relatively large battery, 32GB Ram, and best in class 500 nits QHD+ 16:10 display, there isn't really much to complain about here be it in performance, port selection, build quality or aesthetic appeal. It pretty much does it all except for thunderbolt (since this isn't based on an Intel CPU) and a memory card reader. For most users, both of those may not be a deal breaker and we think this might be the best gaming laptop to get if you have the budget for it.
Should you get this?
As for should you get this, here is what we think. Is your budget around Rs 2,35,000 or Rs 2.35 Lakh? Would you prefer a QHD+ 16:10 Display over an FHD 300hz or 360Hz display on a laptop? Would you like to save around Rs 65,000 by opting for a very similar laptop as the competition that pretty much offers the same / better performance? If all or most of the answers to the above questions are yes, then go with the Legion 7.
