Gaming Laptop buying guide | Under Rs 50,000 (April 2021)

Updated: Jul 12, 2021

Minimum specifications required to meet the necessary requirements of content creation / design based applications. Ideal only for students. Skipping this segment and going for the mid end is highly recommended for users looking for more performance.

What to expect?

Mid end CPUs (also referred to as processors) - Intel Core i5/Ryzen 5

Low-Mid end GPU - 2 GB graphics or lower / just integrated graphics

Ram - 8 GB or lower

Today's laptops are equipped with components that perform much better than laptops at the same price few years back. However, with that being said, this is still only an entry level segment for Architectural needs and students are likely to face performance issues down the road (especially for large projects, 3D rendering etc). Nevertheless, this might be just enough for you given that your works are at a small scale / you don't mind the long waiting times for bigger projects and heavier tasks such as for rendering. Also, you might just get lucky and find excellent laptops at this price point during a sale! So check back during sale or create an account on this site to receive the latest updates right in your mail!

Laptop below Rs 50,000

Unlike other price segments, this segment sees very few laptops with discrete graphics let alone GPU with 4gb ram. However stretching the budget to Rs 55,000 will give much better options in terms of graphics performance.

The softwares used determines the specification requirement of the laptop. For Architects most applications except rendering softwares such as Lumion, TwinMotion etc are CPU Intensive applications, which means these applications won't benefit from a high end GPU and all or most of the tasks are handled by the CPU alone. However, this is not the case with applications like Lumion, Twinmotion and other GPU intensive applications. Lately, CPU based rendering plugin V-ray has also enabled GPU rendering support. So, a good GPU will help most applications and it is recommended to have one, especially if you're a designer or Architect who will be using GPU intensive applications.

Here is a list of some of the top performing Laptops available in the Indian market. These have been selected on the basis of their CPU/GPU performance, Ram and Storage in that specific order.
