For professionals who need the best performance out there on the go. Enthusiast level performance for those with no price budget limitations and wants the absolute best out there.

What to expect?

High end CPUs (also referred to as processors) - Intel Core i7/i9/ | Ryzen 7/9

High end GPU - 6 GB graphics or higher

Ram - 16 GB or higher

This list mostly features the best you can get out there. This is it, this is as far as it gets at performance (and price). Anything above this isn't directly available in the India market at present.

The softwares used, determines the specification requirement of the laptop. For Architects most applications except rendering software such as Lumion, TwinMotion, etc are CPU Intensive applications, which means these applications won't benefit from a high end GPU and all or most of the tasks are handled by the CPU alone. However, this is not the case with applications like Lumion, Twinmotion and other GPU intensive applications. Lately, CPU based rendering plugin V-ray has also enabled GPU rendering support and applications like AutoCAD, Sketchup and Revit can also make use of GPU through GPU accelerated performance/hardware accelerated performance. So, a good GPU will help most applications and it is recommended to have one, especially if you're a designer or Architect who will be using GPU intensive applications.

Here is a list of some of the top performing Laptops available in the Indian market. These have been selected on the basis of their CPU/GPU performance, Ram and Storage in that specific order. Also on a side note, remember to check back during sale (or when it is time for your next upgrade or while recommending for a friend or something)!

For convenience, this segment has been merged with the rest of the offerings worth considering at higher price tags and the they have been categorized into the following based on CPU performance.

Laptop Below Rs 1,80,000

This segment sees quite a few laptops with an impressive pairing of CPU and GPU along with 16 GB ram or more.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX | GPU: RTX 3080 16 GB 130W TGP | Ram: 32 GB | SSD: 2 TB | Display: 100% sRGB 15.6in 300Hz

+ Excellent CPU and GPU pairing.

+ Highest performing CPU yet

+ One of the best RTX 3080 laptops

- High price tag

- The aesthetics might not appeal to everyone.

With dual screens, ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE GX551QS-HF151TS is an incredibly powerful 15.6in notebook powered by the Ryzen 9 5900HX 8 core CPU and the latest RTX 3080 16 GB. Paired with 32 GB of ram and 2 TB of SSD, there's not much you can ask for. The unique design with two displays does open up possibilities for multi tasking while the slightly different keyboard and trackpad layout might need a short while to get used to. At 2.48 kg, it is not the lightest laptop but delivers all the performance you can get while offering decent battery life as well. Check out the link below for the current prices, full specification and user reviews from flipkart.com

Bottom line: The most all round performance you can get out of a laptop yet.

2. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 G733QS-HG056TS - Rs 2,34,990 - Editor's choice for an all-round laptop

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX | GPU: RTX 3080 16 GB 130W TGP | Ram: 32 GB | SSD: 1 TB | Display: 100% sRGB 17.3in 300Hz

+ Excellent CPU and GPU pairing.

+ Highest performing CPU yet

+ One of the best RTX 3080 laptops

- The aesthetics might not appeal to everyone.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 G733QS-HG056TS is an incredibly powerful 17.3in notebook powered by the Ryzen 9 5900HX 8 core CPU and the latest RTX 3080 16 GB. Paired with 32 GB of ram and 1 TB of SSD, it's similar to the above mentioned Zephyrus Duo in terms of internal hardware albeit in a standard laptop design. With the highest performing CPU and one of the best GPUs, this is about as good as it gets without spending a way too much. With the right balance of performance and hardware, all things considered, this laptop is the Editor's choice for an all-round laptop. Check out the link below for the current prices, full specification and user reviews from flipkart.com

Bottom line: The best all round performance laptop without compromises.

There's also a 15in variant with the same internal specifications:

3. MSI GE76 Raider 10UH-454IN - Rs 2,89,990 - Best GPU performance on a laptop yet

CPU: Intel i7 10870H | GPU: RTX 3080 16 GB 155W TGP | Ram: 32 GB | SSD: 2 TB | Display: 100% sRGB 17.3in 300Hz

+ Good CPU and GPU pairing.

+ Highest performing GPU yet

+ Build quality

- At this price point, CPU would have been better

The MSI GE76 Raider 10UH-454IN houses the highest performing variant of the latest RTX 3080 16 GB which is paired with an Intel i7 10870H, 32 GB of ram and 3 TB of SSD. While the i7 does not quite match the performance of the Ryzen CPUs mentioned in this list, it is still sufficiently powerful for most tasks. With the excellent GPU performance, GPU intensive applications would perform well on it. At 2.9 kg, this is certainly one of the relatively heavier laptops out there which may partly be due to its huge battery. Check out the link below for the current prices, full specification and user reviews from flipkart.com

Bottom line: If you're looking for the best GPU based performance you can get on a laptop, this is it.
